I know what you’re thinking… an hour seems like an eternity when it comes to family photos. You may be wondering if your kiddo or *cough* husband will last more than 15 minutes. My friend, I’m here to tell you, THIS is where the magic happens {cue fireworks}.
Over the years, I’ve learned that an hour is the sweet spot. It's the perfect amount of time for your babies to warm up to me and feel comfortable in this new setting and for the creativity to flow. A 60 minute session is the best of both worlds! Not only do we have time to take the posed, portrait style pictures for the grandparents, we get to take the silly, in-the-moment, unexpectedly candid ones as well! Think of our evening together as an adventure for the whole family and rest easy knowing we have plenty of time to capture it all.

What is your editing style?
I take immense pride in my work, carefully hand-editing each photo to ensure the highest quality. My style is true-to-color, bright and bold. I adjust for color and exposure, remove blemishes or marks that I feel are distracting, and enhance smiles with subtle teeth whitening. My goal is to keep skin looking fresh and natural, never over-edited or fake. If you'd like more extensive retouching, we can discuss additional options and pricing.
How long before I get my pictures back?
My turnaround time is two weeks. Once your session is complete, I will upload all of your images to a private, online gallery. From there, you can easily download your images directly to your computer OR take advantage of the built-in store to purchase prints right from your gallery—easy peasy!
Do you travel beyond Battle Creek?
I love to explore new locations! An additional travel fee applies if the session location is more than 30 miles from me.
What time of day are sessions scheduled?
For the best light, I prefer to only shoot at sunrise or just before sunset. Check sunrise/sunset times before committing to a date!
Why do you charge so much?
I don't, actually! I have priced my services in line with other photographers in the area who provide a similar level of experience and quality. I also offer the option to split your payment into two installments for added flexibility!

Professional Equipment: I use high-quality cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, and editing software to ensure the best results.
Time Investment: Beyond the photoshoot itself, a lot of time goes into planning, location scouting, client communication, and especially editing. For every hour of shooting, I spend several more hours editing, selecting the best images, and preparing the final gallery.
Customized Service: Each session is tailored to your family’s unique story, offering personalized guidance and creative direction to ensure the images reflect your personalities.
Hand Editing: I hand-edit each photo, adjusting for color, exposure, and imperfections while maintaining a natural and polished look. This meticulous process requires both time and attention to detail.
Running a Business: My pricing also reflects the costs of running a business, including insurance, taxes, marketing, website hosting, and equipment maintenance.
